Paraglider Gets Entangled In North Vancouver Power Lines, Walks Away Uninjured

The Canadian Press, 19 Apr, 2016 11:53 AM
VANCOUVER — It was a close call for a paraglider in North Vancouver on Monday evening after he found himself tangled in power lines.

Assistant fire chief Dave Burgess says crews were called to the scene (on Ranger Ave.) at about 8:30 p.m. but had to wait for B.C. Hydro crews to safely extract the man.

Burgess said the area was denergized and the paraglider removed from the wires.

He says the man in his 50s was checked by B.C. ambulance personnel and was found to be unharmed.

Burgess says the man then "packed up his paraglider and went home," adding that any situation involving high tension wires can be extremely dangerous.
