Pattullo Bridge closed for Easter long weekend

Drivers are reminded that the Pattullo Bridge between Surrey and New Westminster will be closed in both directions starting on Thursday, April 6, at 10 p.m. and reopening on Tuesday, April 11, at 5 a.m.

The bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic to allow the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project to complete soil densification activities and relocation of the seismic warning system. TransLink will conduct sign relocation, line painting, concrete patching and routine bridge inspections during this time.

Drivers should take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges as alternate routes. Pedestrians, cyclists and emergency services will be able to use the bridge at all times.

Northbound and southbound N19 NightBus trips will be rerouted over the Queensborough and Alex Fraser bridges. Vancouver Police launched an investigation in 2019, after one person came forward and reported being sexually assaulted during laser hair removal appointments at Dermabella Clinic, located near Howe and Smithe streets. During the investigation, detectives identified a second victim who had allegedly been photographed while naked and receiving treatment at the clinic.

VPD warns of scam that tricks seniors into thinking their loved ones have been arrested, having them pay thousands of dollars for legal fees.

The scam was first reported to VPD on January 12, when a west-side couple in their 70s received a call from a man who claimed their nephew had been in a car accident and needed $8,000 to get out of jail. The fraudster then came to the victims’ home and picked up the money.
