Pedestrian Languished For Two Hours After Hit By Vehicle in Surrey, Police Seeking Witnesses

Darpan News Desk , 14 Oct, 2016 12:37 PM
Surrey RCMP is looking for any witnesses to an incident where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the early hours of September 19th in the Clayton area of Surrey.

On September 19, 2016, between 3:50am and 4:10am, a vehicle was travelling westbound on Fraser Highway after leaving the 20300 block of Fraser Highway in Langley. The vehicle, a brown, 2004 Nissan Pathfinder, struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in the 19400 block of Fraser Highway. Approximately two hours later the pedestrian was spotted roadside by a passing motorist and transported to hospital.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT), who investigates all serious injury and fatal motor vehicle collisions in the city, is leading this investigation. The driver of the Pathfinder has been identified and is speaking to police. Investigators are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.

Investigators would like to talk to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or anyone who may have seen the Pathfinder driving prior to the collision, says Cpl. Scotty Schumann.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
