Pickups Left On Blocks As Thieves Target Truck Tires In Kamloops, B.C.

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 05 Jan, 2017 11:47 AM
KAMLOOPS, B.C. — RCMP in Kamloops, B.C., are on the hunt for a well-organized group of thieves targeting truck owners in that southern Interior city.

Cpl. Jodie Shelkie says tires from eight pickup trucks have been stolen since Dec. 1.

She says in four cases, all four tires were stolen and the pickup was left on blocks.

Shelkie says most of the affected trucks have been Fords, but tires were also stolen from one GMC pickup.

She advises owners to park in busy, well-lighted areas and install wheel locks or car alarms with wheel sensors.

The latest tire theft occurred Dec. 31, and no arrests have been made.
