  • Pierre Poilievre set to give speech in London during first official trip overseas

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is set to speak at a think tank in London, England, today.

He is on his first official trip abroad as Opposition leader with stops planned in both the U.K. and Germany.

In London today he will deliver the Margaret Thatcher Lecture at the Centre for Policy Studies, after meeting this morning with U.K. Conservative Leader Kemi Badenoch.

On Monday, he attended a reception hosted by CANZUK International, a group that promotes closer ties among Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the U.K.

In a social media post, Poilievre said there is an "immense opportunity" for those nations to develop closer ties on trade and security.

The trip comes after the Conservative leader insisted on a stable relationship with the United States in a speech to a business crowd in Toronto last week.

Robertson, now 25, grew up in Bruce County, Ont., a 2 ½-hour drive from Toronto, where many of the psychologists and pediatricians who diagnose autism are located. None of the local health providers would diagnose her, and it took five years of waiting to see an out-of-town specialist who finally did.
