Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 24 Aug, 2016 12:44 PM
SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Police in New Brunswick are investigating a pair of unusual, random attacks in Saint John that left two people with minor injuries.

The Saint John Police Force says a man entered a residence on Dufferin Row at 6:20 a.m., threatened and then stabbed a 62-year-old woman inside.

They say the man fled, while the victim sustained minor injuries.

Minutes later, police say they were called to Chapel Street nearby, where a man rang the doorbell of a home and allegedly attacked a 59-year-old man who came to the door.

They say a 30-year-old man was arrested a short time later with a pair of pliers believed to have been used in at least one of the incidents.

Police say they don't believe the victims know the suspect.
