Police Allege Man Attacked, Stabbed Man And Woman At Two Different Homes In Saint John, N.B.

    SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Police in New Brunswick are investigating a pair of unusual, random attacks in Saint John that left two people with minor injuries.
     
    The Saint John Police Force says a man entered a residence on Dufferin Row at 6:20 a.m., threatened and then stabbed a 62-year-old woman inside.
     
    They say the man fled, while the victim sustained minor injuries.
     
    Minutes later, police say they were called to Chapel Street nearby, where a man rang the doorbell of a home and allegedly attacked a 59-year-old man who came to the door.
     
    They say a 30-year-old man was arrested a short time later with a pair of pliers believed to have been used in at least one of the incidents.
     
    Police say they don't believe the victims know the suspect.
