Darpan News Desk Kamloops RCMP, 12 Nov, 2021 03:41 PM
  • Police and SAR searching for Shannon White: Kamloops RCMP

The investigation into the disappearance of Shannon White has led police and Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) to an area west of town.

On Friday Nov. 12, 2021, Kamloops RCMP joined together with KSAR to search for Ms. White and any clues into her disappearance.

Ms. White is believed to have left her home in Lower Sahali around 8 a.m. on Monday morning, Nov. 1, 2021. She was supposed to be at her job on Notre Dame Drive for 8:30 a.m., but she never arrived. The next day, her vehicle was located parked on Nicola Street near 3rd Avenue.

As part of the investigation, police received information confirming Ms. White’s vehicle left town for a 45-minute period on Nov. 1, shortly after Ms. White was supposed to have arrived at work.  Her vehicle was observed travelling west on the Trans Canada Highway, leading officers to the area being searched.

A police presence in the Silver Sage trailer park is also related to the investigation.

“With this new information, the Kamloops RCMP are seeking any witnesses who may have observed Shannon’s Jeep west of Kamloops on Nov. 1, to please contact police,” said Corporal Dave Marshall, Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit. “We currently have a large Search and Rescue contingent searching for Shannon and we will continue to provide updates regarding the search and any additional assistance we may require from the public.”

Those with information which may be related to the investigation are asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-38386.

Sajjan said that's because the U.S. is leading the mission and providing security and so its forces, some 6,000 personnel, must be the last to leave the airport. That means Canada's special forces and aircrews must begin departure preparations in advance.
