Police Continue Search Of Nova Scotia Property In Student Homicide Case

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 26 Aug, 2015 01:07 PM
LOWER TRURO, N.S. — Police are continuing their search of a property near Truro, N.S., as they investigate the murder of a young physics student in Halifax.

Investigators, search and rescue crews and RCMP dog service teams are probing the area in Lower Truro, about an hour outside Halifax.

Halifax Regional Police say the search, which began Tuesday and included buildings on a private property, is connected to the death of 22-year-old Taylor Samson.

His remains have not been found.

William Michael Sandeson, who was about to start classes at Dalhousie University's medical school, was charged with first-degree murder on Thursday, four days after Samson was reported missing.

The 22-year-old, who studied kinesiology and was a middle-distance track athlete, was remanded into custody after a court appearance last week.

His player profile on Dalhousie University's website lists Sandeson's hometown as Truro.
