Police Divers Enter River In Search Of Missing Montreal Boy

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 19 Mar, 2018 12:47 PM
Montreal police are using divers to search the Riviere des Prairies river today to search for Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou a week after the 10-year-old boy went missing.

This is the first time divers have entered the river since the boy left home last Monday afternoon and disappeared while walking to a friend's house.

Officers have also gone door to door, searched backyards and used horses and all-terrain vehicles to search the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighbourhood where the boy was last seen.

Police say they have received nearly 250 tips from the public since the boy disappeared.

Canadian boxer Adonis Stevenson, meanwhile, is donating $15,000 to the boy's family, who had already announced a $10,000 reward to anyone who helps find their son.

The boy's father has told reporters he's convinced his son was abducted.
