Police Identify 29-Year-Old Coquitlam, B.C., Man As Victim Of Fatal Shooting

The Canadian Press, 15 Jun, 2016 01:11 PM
BURNABY, B.C. — Police have identified the man who was killed in a shooting in a Burnaby, B.C., neighbourhood.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation team says the victim was 29-year-old Christopher Hurtado, also known as Christopher Serrano, from the neighbouring community of Coquitlam.

Police were called to a residential area Tuesday night after a report of shots fired and arrived to find a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital but did not survive.

Investigators say a dark coloured sedan was seen leaving the neighbourhood and hitting a parked vehicle around the time shots were fired.

Police believe the shooting was a targeted attack and IHIT is investigating.
