Police Identify 55-year-old Victim Of Apparent Homicide In Ladysmith, B.C.

    LADYSMITH, B.C. — Mounties have identified a woman slain last week in Ladysmith, B.C.
     
    Officers say 55-year-old Rayna Johnson was involved in a fight at a modular home park that involved several people and died at the scene.
     
    Fifty-year-old Trevor Meers was arrested after a 911 caller reported the fight at around midnight on Feb. 3.
     
    He is now facing a manslaughter charge in her death and remains in custody until a scheduled court appearance on Wednesday.
     
    Police say Meers and Johnson were known to each other.
     
    The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit, the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and Ladysmith RCMP are all investigating.
