Police Issue Photos Of Man Wanted In Attempted Abduction Of 8-Year-Old Girl Near Stanley Park

The Canadian Press, 05 Sep, 2015 01:19 PM
Vancouver police have released photos and a description of a person of interest after the attempted abduction of an eight-year-old girl near Stanley Park.

Police say the man is white, 20 to 30 years old, about five feet eight inches tall, has a thin build, dark hair and a bushy goatee.

He was wearing a green and black camouflage hoodie, green pants, an orange and yellow construction vest and white sunglasses or goggles on his head.
Police believe he was lingering in the area just before the alleged attack and have now obtained video footage of the man.

The girl was approached from behind on Friday morning by a man (on Denman Street near the seawall) who grabbed her and attempted to drag her away, but her parents stopped him.

Police flooded the area and searched for the man, who was last seen several blocks away (at the pedestrian underpass to Lost Lagoon), but no arrests have been made.
