Darpan News Desk , 11 Nov, 2015 12:01 PM
Premier Christy Clark released the following statement in celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights:

“I want to extend my best wishes to everyone celebrating Diwali – the Festival of Lights – and wish everyone all the best in the coming year.

“Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over dark, knowledge over ignorance and good over evil. It brings us together to celebrate the values that connect all of us – hope, friendship and goodwill.

“Our rich multicultural society enriches the lives of all British Columbians – and is a competitive advantage. Our diversity is the key to creating strong and vibrant communities and vital to securing British Columbia’s economic future.

Diwali is a time to look forward with hope and excitement towards a new year of opportunity, and to reflect on how we can create a better future.

“I encourage all British Columbians to come together and take part in one of the many vibrant Diwali festivities throughout the province.

“I wish all British Columbians a happy Diwali.”
