Rain and snow warnings for BC

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 08 Apr, 2024 12:39 PM
  • Rain and snow warnings for BC

Environment Canada has issued rain and snow warnings for parts of southwestern B-C as a moist Pacific frontal system moves into the region.

The weather agency says North Vancouver and West Vancouver may see as much as 50 millimetres of rain in the next 24 hours, leading to possible washouts near rivers and creeks.

The system has also triggered snowfall warnings for the summit area of the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt and on the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass with accumulations of 15 to 20 centimetres possible.

Environment Canada says heavy snowfall may create poor visibility, difficult travelling conditions and motorists are asked to be prepared and adjust their driving to the road conditions.
