RAVINDER SINGH SANDHU Identified As The Victim Of Langley Shooting, IHIT Ask For Witnesses

    IHIT has identified the victim of last week's shooting in the parking lot of the small shopping complex on 200th Street between 64th Avenue and Willowbrook Drive as 42-year-old Ravinder Singh Sandhu.

     

    IHIT said Sandhu was known to police and his murder is believed to be a targeted incident.

     

    On February 7 at around 9:30 p.m., the Langley RCMP responded to reports of shots fired at the parking lot of the Langley Crossing Shopping Center at 6339 200th Street.

     

    Sandhu, 42, was found shot inside his vehicle by first responders. He was transported to hospital where he remained in critical condition until just recently, when he died of his injuries.

     

    IHIT said investigators are looking to speak to any witnesses of the incident who have not yet come forward. They are also looking for dash cam video from anyone who may have been driving in the area before, during or after the shooting.

     
     

    “We share the community’s concern over this shooting in a public place that left one man dead and placed other lives at risk,” said Jang. “We also share the community’s fervor to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice and call on anyone who can help us do so to come forward.”

     

    “It is unfortunate that a second brazen homicide has occurred here in Langley. The level of risk to the community is unacceptable and it is extremely concerning for me, as it must be for Langley residents, that this happened again outside a busy restaurant with young kids nearby,” said Superintendent Murray Power, Officer-in-Charge of Langley Detachment. “Members of the Langley Detachment work collectively with our partners across the region to mitigate violent crime and ensure all intelligence is shared. If anyone has information about this murder, I would urge them to call IHIT investigators. We cannot be complacent.”
