RCMP Asking For Help After Suspicious Incident In Surrey's Clayton Heights Area

The Canadian Press, 07 Mar, 2017 12:57 PM
Surrey RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a group of persons involved in a suspicious occurrence on February 23rd in the Clayton Heights area of Surrey.

On February 23rd at 4:00am, witnesses reported a suspicious incident near the intersection of 193A Street and 65th Avenue.

A female was helped into a dark coloured SUV by a male and the pair then drove out of the area. The vehicle was believed to be a dark grey/blue, newer model Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is not clear what transpired, however, it wasn’t obvious to witnesses whether the female got into the SUV voluntarily or not. There have been no reports from any victims in this case.

Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit is leading this investigation. Officers are asking that the woman or man involved please contact police to advise what transpired. Police have also canvassed the surrounding area and are appealing for any other witnesses to come forward.

If you were involved in this event, we would like to hear from you to ensure your well-being, says Corporal Scotty Schumann. If you were a witness or have any information regarding the people or vehicle involved, please call police as soon as possible.

Anyone involved or with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
