RCMP issues Amber alert for Alberta sisters

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 14 May, 2014 12:55 PM
The RCMP has issued an Amber alert after the trio were spotted in BC.

Officers say the alert was issued after a confirmed sighting in Golden, about 265 kilometres west of Calgary and that the girls might be in danger.

A warrant has been issued for Trina Marie Meisel for two counts of abduction. She does not have legal guardianship of the two girls.

Officers say Taya Meisel, 6, and Talisha, 12, were picked up from their school in Brandt near Vulcan, Alta., Monday.

The reason officers did not issue an Amber alert earlier was because the girls were not believed to be in any immediate danger.

The girls are at an increased risk the longer they are away from their legal guardian, says the RCMP.

Talisha is described as white, 5’0" and 70lbs. She has long blonde hair and a medium build.

Taya is described as white, 3'6″ and 50lbs. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She has a medium build, wears glasses, and often wears pink clothing.

Trina Meisel is described as a 48-year-old white woman. She is 5’6″ and 123lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes.

They are believed to be travelling in a black 2007 Honda CRV with Alberta licence plate number ORNRSE.
