On Tuesday, Jan 3,2022 shortly before 8:30 a.m., frontline Richmond RCMP officers responded to Richmond General Hospital for a report of a man suffering from injuries consistent with a shooting. The man was able to receive emergency medical assistance.

At this moment, this appears to be an isolated incident. The motive and conduct of this investigation is now with our Serious Crimes Unit.

For anyone traveling in around the area of Westminster Highway and Gilbert Road on January 3, 2022 between the hours 8:00 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. is asked to review and provide any dashcam footage you may have.
