Rob Ford's bladder tumour is cancerous; former mayor describes awful pain

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 29 Oct, 2015 01:43 PM

TORONTO — Former Toronto mayor Rob Ford says he will undergo chemotherapy to treat a new cancerous tumour doctors found on his bladder.

A pained-looking Ford, appearing to be in tears at times, has told reporters gathered outside Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital that he's been in terrible pain for several weeks.

But Ford adds he will continue to fight until the day he dies.

The city councillor says he underwent tests after experiencing severe abdominal pain.

Ford, who was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in September 2014, had a cancerous tumour removed from his abdomen in May and last month said he was cancer-free.

His brother, former councillor Doug Ford, said the latest tumour appeared consistent with the previous one.

Rob Ford said news of the new tumour has hit him even harder emotionally than the initial diagnosis.
