  • Rollerblading Robbery Suspect David Yasinsky Arrested In Surrey
SURREY, B.C. — RCMP say they have arrested a man suspected of robbing three businesses in Surrey, B.C., while wearing inline skates.

Cpl. Scotty Schumann says staff at businesses including a bakery and a gas station were threatened with a knife and robbed during robberies between Aug. 20 and Sept. 4.

The suspect escaped on his skates.

Schumann says sharp-eyed witnesses helped officers quickly locate a possible suspect.

RCMP say information provided by the public was key to the investigation and Schumann says the case serves as a good example of co-operation between police and the community.

Thirty-year-old Surrey resident David Yasinsky has been charged with three counts of robbery and has been remanded in custody until his next court date.
