Safer Surrey For All: Surrey RCMP To Host Spring Neighbourhood Safety Meetings At These Locations

Darpan News Desk, 23 Mar, 2017 01:41 PM
This spring, the Surrey RCMP and partners will once again be hosting a series of Neighbourhood Safety Meetings to share information about localized crime trends and current actions underway to address these crimes.

Residents will also have an opportunity to discuss their concerns and make recommendations to improve safety in their neighbourhood.

The Neighbourhood Safety Meetings will be hosted by senior Surrey RCMP police officers and attended by local Community Response Unit and Youth Unit officers.

Representatives from the City of Surrey’s Bylaws and Parks departments will be attending as well as those from the Safe Schools program. The City of Surrey’s Public Safety Strategies Director, Dr. Terry Waterhouse, will also be speaking at these events (with the exception of April 5th).

The Neighbourhood Safety Meetings will build on the success of previous events which have helped bring police and the community closer together to help resolve issues and foster a continued dialogue about public safety, says Superintendent Shawn Gill, Community Services Officer.

Together with our city and community partners, we are committed to sharing information and engaging with the public to address their public safety concerns.
