  • Save on Foods administers expired Astra Zeneca vaccine to customers

The well known grocery chain Save-on-Foods ended up giving 10 customers expired  doses of Astra Zeneca vaccine on Monday April 5th. The vaccine given on the 5th of this month had an expiry date of April 2nd. 

Save on Foods has issued a statement since and has apologized for what happened. 

Its important to note the company emphasized that it understands the concern with receiving an expired vaccine has to do with the relative effectiveness of the vaccine.

Save-on-Foods is in contacty with health officials regarding advice on how to continue vaccination of the affected customers so they are protected from COVID-19.
