Search For Missing Family Underway In Wilderness North Of Kamloops

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 04 May, 2015 08:57 AM
KAMLOOPS, B.C. — A backcountry search is underway for a missing family who are believed to have gone off-roading north of Kamloops, B.C.

The family of four includes two children and was last seen at about noon on Sunday.

Kamloops Search and Rescue manager Alan Hobler says crews are scouring the rural McLure area.

He says the effort was launched in that vicinity after RCMP heard a single ping from a cellphone tower.

Hobler says the family was expected home from a four-by-four excursion on Sunday afternoon, but never returned.

They were driving a red 1976 Toyota Tercel.
