Shooting in Maple Ridge leaves one man dead

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 30 Jul, 2014 11:29 AM
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IIHT) is investigating a fatal shooting in Maple Ridge that left one man dead Tuesday night.

The shooting happened inside a house at 240th Street and 103rd Avenue at about 10:15 p.m., as per news reports.

Trevor Koehler was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds when police arrived at the crime scene and was pronounced dead in hospital.

Investigators are saying that Koehler does not have a criminal record and the incident does not appear to be gang related either.

"At this early stage of the investigation we can say Trevor was the victim of a targeted attack and this was not a random occurrence," Sgt. Adam MacIntosh of IHIT told media.

Investigators are looking for a light-coloured, maybe white or cream, compact import car, possibly a Honda, Toyota or Acura.

Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the IHIT tip line by calling 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. If you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip on their website at Solvecrime.ca
