Shooting In Newton: Intended Victims Not Co-operating As Surrey Police Probe Latest Attack

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 24 Nov, 2015 01:32 PM
SURREY, B.C. — RCMP in Surrey, B.C., are investigating the latest targeted shooting in that city.

Investigators say a home in the Newton neighbourhood was hit by gunfire at about 11 p.m. Monday night.

Residents inside called 911 to report bullets hit the home, but that no one was hurt.

At the same time, police say witnesses from outside the house reported seeing a man, described as South Asian, wearing a mask and running from the scene.

According to officers, the intended victims were in the garage and are known to police but are not co-operating with the investigation.

There have been several shootings in Surrey this year, the most recent on Nov. 21, when one man died and another suffered serious injuries after being shot while sitting in a car.
