Slain soldier expected to be returned home to Hamilton today, reports say

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 24 Oct, 2014 11:29 AM

TORONTO - Several reports say the body of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, gunned down in Ottawa this week, will be returned to his hometown of Hamilton via the Highway of Heroes today.

Military authorities are refusing to discuss the matter.

Provincial police confirm that a motorcade is planned for today but say exact details are still to be worked out.

The reservist from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders is expected to be given a full regimental funeral.

Cirillo, 24, was shot dead as he and a colleague stood guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa on Wednesday.

The gunman was killed after he burst into the Centre Block on Parliament Hill.
