Some Infant Remains Found In Winnipeg Locker Full Term: Pathologist

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 29 Aug, 2016 11:59 AM
WINNIPEG — A pathologist who examined the remains of six infants found in a Winnipeg storage locker says some appeared to be full-term births.

Testimony in the trial of Andrea Giesbrecht has resumed after being put on hold in July.

Pathologist Raymond Rivera told court all the remains he examined had decomposed and some were little more than bones.

He says it was impossible to determine the cause of death or whether the babies had been born alive.

He says those with tissue left behind still had umbilical cords attached.

Giesbrecht was charged with concealing the remains after they were found by storage locker employees in October 2014.
