Surrey launches chatbot

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 17 Dec, 2024 05:26 PM
  • Surrey launches chatbot

Surrey has launched an artificial intelligence chatbot designed to improve response to the public about renovating, building and development in the city.

The city says the Development Inquiry Assistant was launched after a pilot version was released earlier in the year in April.

The chatbot has been integrated on all websites under the city's renovating, building and development section and has the capability of answering questions such as zoning and other items involving construction in Surrey.

Mayor Brenda Locke says the launch of the A-I chatbot, which can provide instant and accurate answers, significantly reduces the barrier for residents to access information on the permitting process in the city.
