Darpan News Desk Darpan, 05 Aug, 2014 09:45 PM
A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant alleging possession of child pornography has been arrested in the Vancouver area after officers stopped him for a traffic violation.

RCMP arrested 29-year-old Geoffrey Scott Ambridge of Surrey after he was stopped in Richmond on Friday.

Ambridge will be taken to Calgary to face the charges.

Cpl. Stephanie Ashton says officers often do background checks on people who are stopped for traffic violations.

Insp. Randall Marquardt says Ambridge was not being targeted by officers, and the arrest was a lucky break.
