Surrey Mother Charged With Murder Of Her 8-Year-Old Daughter Found Dead In Car Trunk

    SURREY, B.C. — The mother of an eight-year-old girl found dead in Surrey, B.C., has been charged with murder.
     
    The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the body of Teagan Batstone was discovered in the trunk of a vehicle in South Surrey on Wednesday.  
     
    Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound says 41-year-old Lisa Batstone is accused of second-degree murder.
     
     
    Batstone was due to appear in a Surrey court on Thursday.
     
    Pound says Batstone has no other children.
     
    The cause of the little girl's death hasn't been confirmed and an autopsy will be conducted.
