UPDATE: 

Surrey RCMP is updating the public that the 66 year old female reported missing on November 17, 2022 has been located safe. Thank you to the media, the public and our policing partners for your assistance.

EARLIER STORY: 

Surrey RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating missing 66-year-old woman, Gurmail Sandhu.

Gurmail Sandhu was last seen at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, in the 8900 block of Queen Mary Boulevard in Surrey.

It is out of character for her to be out of touch with family for this long. Gurmail suffers from a medical condition requiring medication and she may appear disoriented or confused if approached. Gurmail only speaks Punjabi.

If located, please stay with her and call police.

Gurmail Sandhu is described as a 66-year-old South Asian female, 5’6”, with white hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a long green traditional shirt and pants. Police and family are concerned for her health and well-being.

After 3 a.m., the male suspect then reportedly exited the trailer with a weapon and a child. During the engagement with officers, the man was shot and killed. The child was uninjured and a woman was subsequently located with non-life injuries inside the trailer.
