  • Surrey RCMP say recent shooting in the city linked to gang conflict

Police are investigating a shooting last night in the 12900 block of 65A Avenue.

The RCMP said the shooting happened in the Newton area Monday, at around 10:15 p.m.

Indications are that this is a targeted incident related to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict. Investigators called to the scene said they found an uninjured man who appeared to have been the target of the shooting.

According to police, the initial investigation suggests the man was pursued by two others and the parties involved knew each other.

Mounties are looking to identify those involved. Anyone with more information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
