  • Surrey Reopens Select Recreation and Culture Centres this Fall with New Safety Measures

With a safe and phased approach to the reopening of parks, recreation and culture facilities, the City of Surrey announced the launch of fall programming at select facilities.

With strict health and safety guidelines in place, pre-registered programming will begin on September 8, 2020. “Ensuring the health and safety of our residents, patrons and staff have been at the centre of our phased reopening plan, and we look forward to safely welcoming our residents back for a variety of programs this fall,” said Mayor Doug McCallum. “This is an achievement we have collectively made as a City. All of our efforts in following the Public Health Orders have been paramount in allowing us to reopen these facilities, and we ask that you help us keep our facilities safely operational by keeping your guard up and following all public health measures.”

Pre-registered fall programs for families include:

Fitness Centres, including weight rooms and group fitness classes Gymnasium sports including badminton, pickleball, tennis, table tennis and more Licensed preschool.

A variety of visual and performing arts programs for adults, children and youth Tours of current exhibitions at the Surrey Art Gallery and Museum of Surrey Activities will be modified to follow the public safety guidelines and may be scheduled in various locations to ensure physical distancing.

Start times will be staggered to comply with building occupancy limits and programs are subject to change as the Covid-19 pandemic continues.
