Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 21 Nov, 2015 12:33 PM
  • Surrey Shooting That Killed One, Injured Another Likely Targeted: Police
SURREY, B.C. — Homicide investigators say one man is dead and another is recovering in hospital after a shooting in Surrey.

Sgt. Stephanie Ashton of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says Surrey RCMP responded to reports of gunshots just after midnight Saturday.

She says patrol officers found two men with gunshot wounds in a vehicle (in the area of 152nd Street and 66th Avenue).

One man was unresponsive and died despite the efforts of paramedics, and the other is in hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Ashton says public safety is of paramount concern while IHIT investigators, Surrey RCMP and other Lower Mainland units work to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.

She says investigators believe the shooting was targeted although there's no indication it's connected to any other investigation in the Surrey area.
