Surrey RCMP have arrested and charged a suspect who is alleged to have stabbed his acquaintance on July 14th, 2016, in the 13300 block of Old Yale Road.

On July 14, 2016 at approximately 10:45 PM, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing in the 13300 block of Old Yale Road. Upon arrival, officers located a 25 year old male suffering from stab wounds who was subsequently transported to local area hospital in stable condition with non- life threatening injuries.

The stabbing occurred as a result of an argument between two men who are known to each other. The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.

Steven FAYANT, 23 years old of Port Coquitlam, has now been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Failing To Comply with an Undertaking. FAYANT remains in custody with his next court appearance July 21 at Surrey Provincial Court.

Members of our General Investigation Unit led this investigation, says Corporal Scotty Schumann. Their hard work, dedication, and attention to detail led to these two charges, and the investigation is now before the courts.
