Police in New Westminster say they've arrested a suspect after a man was stabbed on Sunday.

Police say they responded to the scene around 7 a.m. and found a man with a stab wound to his shoulder, who was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

They say police collected evidence, including C-C-T-V footage, and a suspect was arrested three hours later.

Investigators say the assault does not appear to be random.
