Suspect Attacked, Exposed Himself To 10-Year-Old Girl: Surrey RCMP

    Surrey RCMP is advising the public of an on-going investigation of an indecent act which involved an assault on a 10-year-old in the 6200 block of 144 Street, near Sullivan Heights Secondary School.

     

    On January 10, 2019, shortly before 4:00 pm, Surrey RCMP received a report that a female child was walking behind the secondary school when an unknown male grabbed her hoodie from behind, tossed her to the ground, and then exposed his genitalia. The victim screamed and the suspect fled. The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 pm.

     

    The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, possibly a teenager or in his early 20s, approximately 5’2 to 5’5, with a normal build. He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up over his head and black pants. The suspect was last seen running westbound through the school’s parking lot towards 144 Street.

     

    The Surrey RCMP Special Victim’s Unit currently has conduct of the investigation with assistance from the Surrey RCMP Youth Unit.

     
     
     
     

    Surrey RCMP are providing tips to the community regarding personal safety precautions:

     

    Don’t take short cuts. Use main routes, avoid lanes, forested or secluded areas

     

    Walk with friends

     

    Tell someone where you are going and when you will be back

     

    Phone home when leaving a friend’s house and say when you will be home

     

    Don’t assist strangers

     

    Trust your instincts and your feelings
