Suspect Charged With Manslaughter In Fatal Surrey House Fire

    On September 7th at approximately 12:41am, Surrey RCMP received a call from Surrey Fire Services about a structure fire at a residence in the 12300 block of 112A Street. Upon police arrival, a deceased male was located inside the residence.

     

    The initial investigation has determined that the male died under suspicious circumstances and the cause of the fire has also been deemed suspicious. Officers have taken one individual into custody.

     

    The investigation is still in its early stages, however, early indications are that this does not appear to be a random incident and is between individuals known to each other.

     
     

    The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
