  • Suspect in Surrey shooting arrested

R-C-M-P say a suspect in a fatal shooting in Surrey in 2022 has been arrested in Ontario. 

Police say a 20-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were injured in the February 2022 shooting, and the man -- Juvraj Jabal of Surrey -- later died in hospital 

Police say their two-year investigation led them to a 23-year-old suspect, Yusuf Kontos, who was staying in Delta at the time of the shooting. 

Kontos was arrested this week near Toronto and faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder.

Vancouver Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed this morning in South Vancouver. A 60-year-old man was struck by a transit bus near Fleming Street and East 41st Ave just after 6 a.m. The man was taken to hospital where he later died.
