Swimming Mishap Off Cancun, Mexico Claims Life Of Ontario Man

The Canadian Press, 13 May, 2016 11:57 AM
CANCUN, Mexico — A Kitchener, Ont., truck driver has drowned while swimming off the coast of Cancun, Mexico.

Zoltan Zadori was in the water with his wife, Cindy McPherson, on Wednesday when the couple was swept out to sea.

McPherson says the waves were very strong and kept pulling them further out, so they signalled they were in distress to a pair of lifeguards on duty.

She says they were pulled to shore, but paramedics could not resuscitate Zadori, and he was pronounced dead shortly after.

McPherson remains in Mexico and says she'd been unable to eat or sleep since her husband’s death. She says family members are on their way to help her.

The couple, who were staying at the Grand Oasis Sens resort, were married in 2014 and Zadori had two children from a previous marriage.
