An 18 year-old from Chilliwack has been arrested for allegedly going double the speed limit on his motorcycle on a highway near Merritt.
A B-C Highway Patrol officer says the teen was travelling at a speed of up to 209 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometres per hour zone last week.
The motorcycle driver tried to evade police by doing a U-turn, but wiped out and was taken into custody by an R-C-M-P officer.
The driver is facing multiple charges and is set to appear in court next month.
Mounties in Nanaimo are asking for the public's help in identifying two people accused of breaking into a local hair salon. They say police responded to a glass break alarm at Cosmo Prof on April 25th and found its door had been "smashed out."
