Teen Girl Escapes Abbotsford Sex Assault By A Punjabi Man

    On Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 11:15 pm, a 17-year-old female exited a bus in the area of Townline Road and Firhill Drive. As she began walking westbound from that location, a male suspect exited a shiny, black 4-door sedan and grabbed the victim and offered her cash. 
     
    He attempted to push her into the back seat of his car while grabbing and groping the victim. After a brief exchange, the victim managed to call 911 and the suspect fled the area.
     
    The suspect is described as a South Asian man, 20-35 years of age, 5’7”- 5’9” tall with a medium build, short black hair and a couple days of beard growth.
     
    The man spoke with a Punjabi accent and was wearing black pants and a black t-shirt with a grey pattern or logo on both the front and back.
     
     
    This serious incident is being investigated by APD Major Crime Unit detectives. The suspect has been observed in the area by other witnesses and investigators believe he may live or work nearby.
