Teen girl stabbed multiple times in Nanaimo

    A 19-year-old male has been arrested after he stabbed a 16-year-old female in Nanaimo, BC.

    Multiple stab wounds have left the teenager with critical injuries in the incident that took place early morning.

    At around 12:30 a.m. Mounties were called to the 3300-block of Fairway Crescent after receiving 911 calls about an assault.

    The victim was discovered in a distressed condition, bleeding with several stab wounds. Paramedics were immediately called at the scene following which the female was rushed to the hospital where she underwent surgery.

    Police Dog Services were employed to track down the male suspect on a nearby street.

    Officials informed media that the two knew each other and they will be investigating further into the nature of their relationship.
