Police on Vancouver Island have issued a warning after responding to a series of reports about people being struck in the face and neck by teenagers shooting what police describe as "water gel blasters" or soft air guns.
The statement from Campbell River R-C-M-P says the teens are driving by and shooting at pedestrians.
The Mounties are warning the youth that it may seem like a harmless prank, but it's a criminal offence and they could be seen as committing assault with a weapon.
RCMP officers in Kelowna, B.C., are investigating after two bodies were found inside a local business following gunshots and a fire. Police say a shooting in downtown Vancouver Saturday night appears to have been targeted. The city's police department says multiple witnesses began calling 9-1-1 around 5:40 p-m, after shots were fired near Richards and Robson streets.
Police say a 48-year-old man is facing several charges after officers seized several guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition and homemade explosive devices from a home in Port Alberni. Mounties carried out a controlled detonation of a device at the home yesterday afternoon.
