Thinking Of Jumping The Fare Gates? Don’t. Especially When There Is A Warrant Out For Your Arrest!

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 24 Apr, 2016 03:05 PM
New Westminster - A man who decided to jump over a fare gate, rather than pay a fare, clearly wasn’t considering the consequences.

On April 14, 2016, at 10:30 am, Metro Vancouver Transit Police Officers saw a man slide his bag underneath a fare gate at Oakridge SkyTrain Station and then jump over the fare gate. The man was taken into custody and when checked on police databases, found to have an outstanding warrant fromthe Vancouver Police Department for Assault.

Mark Alexander LAWRENCE, 61 years, NFA and well known to police, was taken to the Vancouver Police Department jail. He appeared in court and was released on an Undertaking with conditions that include a NoGo to the 600 block Robson Street and Not to Possess Any Weapons.

LAWRENCE is scheduled to next appear in Vancouver Provincial Court.

Anne Drennan from Transit Police stated “It’s obvious this party gave no thought to the circumstances and consequences of his actions. To jump over the fare gates in front of police officers, when there is a warrant out for you, will likely never end well.”
