  • Two dead, one injured in Chilliwack shooting

CHILLIWACK, B.C. - A shooting at a home in Chilliwack, B.C. has left two women dead and one man injured.

The RCMP's Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment says officers were called to the residence on McNaught Ave. near Yard Rd. at about 11 a.m. Thursday for reports of gunfire.

When they arrived, they found the body of one woman, and a second woman with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

She was airlifted to hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated by paramedics on scene.

Police are looking for 50-year-old Eric John Shestalo, who is considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators believe the attack was targeted, and that the suspect was known to the victims.

“Officers are working to locate Mr. Shestalo as well as any witnesses to this devastating incident.” says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “We are urging anyone with information, dashcam footage, or residential security footage, to come forward and speak with police as soon as possible.”

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken control of the case, and is working closely with the UFVRD Chilliwack RCMP, the BC Coroners Service and the RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).
