Two people are facing charges in Prince George after police seized drugs and guns during an attempted traffic stop.

R-C-M-P say officers were patrolling along Highway 97 last week when they tried to stop a driver who they allegedly saw committing motor vehicle infractions.

Instead of stopping for officers, the Mounties say the driver of the pickup truck sped away, despite the icy road conditions.

Police say they eventually used a spike belt to stop the vehicle, where they found suspected fentanyl and a loaded gun, and the driver along with a passenger were arrested.
