Unknown Substance In Street Drugs Suspected In Two North Vancouver Deaths

The Canadian Press, 21 Jul, 2015 11:43 AM
VANCOUVER — Drug users in North Vancouver, B.C., are being warned of a deadly substance that could be available on the street.

RCMP Cpl. Geoff Harder says two people were found dead on Monday after apparently inhaling some type of illegal narcotic.

A release issued by the detachment says investigators believe the two victims died suddenly.

The material they were sniffing is now being tested to determine whether it contains any lethal contaminants.

Officers have not yet determined if Monday's deaths could be linked to tainted street drugs that sickened eight people in Surrey on July 14 and 15.

No deaths were reported but RCMP in that city issued a warning urging street-level drug users, especially users of heroin, to take extra precautions.
