U.S. Coach Who Taped Students Changing At B.C. Ski Resort Gets 8 Years In Prison

  • U.S. Coach Who Taped Students Changing At B.C. Ski Resort Gets 8 Years In Prison
SEATTLE — A former private school coach in Seattle has been sentenced to eight years in prison for secretly videotaping his female students at a British Columbia ski resort.

RCMP arrested Jason Paur, who is 45, at the Silver Star ski resort near Vernon in 2013 after students found a video camera hidden in their bedroom.

The U.S. Department of Justice says the camera was positioned to record the young women while they got dressed after showering.

Court records show he had recorded students while they were changing in other facilities and events.

The court heard that Paur used the video for his own sexual gratification and travelled with the students to Canada knowing that he planned to film them.

Paur's sentence for the charge of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity also includes 15 years of supervised release.
